To collect unemployment, you generally must:

Meet your state’s ongoing reporting requirements
NJ Law states you must have earned at least $283 per week (a base week) during 20 or more weeks in covered employment during the base year period, or you must have earned at least $14,200 in total covered employment during the base year period. The law differs from state to state. The state makes all final determinations.
